Paul Ryan is at it Again

 by Bob Murl Bearden

‎Paul Ryan is at it again. He’s tried this before and was roundly chastised and called to task for it, not only by Democrats but from members of his own party and congress backed off the Ryan budget. It’s a budget that essentially gives additional tax breaks and tax cuts to the wealthy and the big corporations, who already aren’t paying their fair share of taxes. Instead of trying to plug the loop holes in the current laws and ensure that the wealthiest 1 percent and those in the corporate world pay their fair share, Ryan is once again going for the gold and instead of empowering Grandma, is trying to take advantage of Grandma and give her and grandpa his finger.

Ryan’s plan would gut Social Security and Medicaid and Medicare and put seniors and those at the lower end of the economic scale out in the street begging for health care and fending for themselves. Newt, Rick, Ron Paul and Mitt are all on board with this. Mitt said he that is was a wonderful plan, but he would because he is one of the beneficiaries of the Ryan plan to stick it to the 99 percent.

What an awful collection of dodo’s we have spawned in the party that once claimed Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln as members. In fact Lincoln helped found the GOP. Me thinks he would be spinning in his grave if he knew what a terrible group of neo-cons his party has fallen heir to. They have absolutely no compassion for anyone who isn’t making at least $250,000 per year.

In fact, they have made it plain by their actions and their words that the poor and disadvantaged don’t count. That women should have no rights save the ones that their husbands and a group of old white guys say they should have. They have made it plain that certain segments of our society aren’t entitled to any consideration or rights at all.

They want to make workers and their families, if not slaves to corporations, at least serfs who would only be given what their employer felt they wanted to part with. They believe that companies should be allowed to tell women what they can and can’t do with their bodies. They believe that corporations have the right to deny health care coverage to their employees for any reason that they don’t agree with. They would allow health care for only those among us who could afford to pay for it.

They want to return us to a time when there was a spy behind every tree lurking to see whether or not you might be a pinko commie. Only now they want to carry that to a higher level and come peeking into our bedrooms to see what we are doing to ourselves and to whomever we might be sharing our beds with. 1984 has passed but Newt, Rick, Ron Paul and Mitt think believe that H. G. Wells’s book was a primer for how to control our nation’s citizens and ferret out all manner of things citizens of this nation might be involved in that they don’t agree with.

These are scary people. And they are running for the highest office in the land, telling outright lies and half-truths. They are blaming high gas prices on our president, even though they and pundits who carry water for them were saying 4 short years ago that the president didn’t have any control over gas prices. Now suddenly he is the culprit. Why? Because the guy that was president 4 years ago was George W. Bush the lessor and the president today is Barack Obama. A man whom they hate, because he is part African-American.

He’s also half Irish. As I remember their forerunners hated JFK, not because he was Black (which he wasn’t) but because he was an Irish who was Catholic. They blamed him for everything too. Hatred seems to be ingrained into their psyches. Compassion and caring for anyone who is not wealthy or who can’t drop a few cool millions into their campaign coffers just doesn’t exist within the person of whom they are!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said,

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction … The chain reaction of evil–hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars — must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation. Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true.”

The scary thing for me is Dr. King’s prophetic words are more and more defining what the ‘Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse’ running for president stands for and has even begun to define their character and their campaigns for president on a worrisome level.” —– Bob Bearden

One Response to Paul Ryan is at it Again

  1. Ryan scares folks because he actually presents ideas that are an alternative to simply spending more money. He dares touch the sacred entitlement programs that desperately need reform. The true tragedy is the propaganda that Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid are sound financially. I appreciate your post but respectfully disagree. Stop by my site if you please. http://www.mostly-right.com Thanks.
