Right Wing Off Center

Crazy politics. Crazy politicians. We have always had politicians who were a little off center, but not an entire political party. The ‘Party of No’ once known as the Republican Party is against everything and they stick together much like the National Socialist Party did in Germany when they were trying to grab power in the early 30’s.

It worked well for the National Socialists, will it work for the Republicans? Maybe, because they have a cadre of shadowy backers who have enough money to bankroll a lot of politicians, especially ones who will think, act and do just as they are told and they already have a gaggle of bought and paid for legislators on hand.

And then we have crazy voters, like a group of democrats in West Virginia who went to the polls yesterday and voted for a convicted felon who is in prison rather than to vote for a man who is kind, compassionate and caring. That is a reminiscence of Texas politics of a few decades ago when voters there went to the polls and elected a man who had been dead 6 months.

Then we have crazy candidates who sleep with dead babies. Candidates who take credit for something they railed against even to the point of saying if the president went ahead and did it, it would be the end of the American Automobile Industry. But, now that it worked and the president has been proven right in what he did, Mitt Romney who wrote a scathing op-ed piece against it is now claiming he deserves the credit.

The scary thing about all these things is that we have a huge segment of our voters who actually buy into these crazy kinds of politics and vote not for what they know to be right. Vote, not for what they know to be the truth, but vote to essentially cut their own throats rather than admit that a compassionate, caring articulate African-American cares about what happens to this country and its people.

They are absolutely off their collective rockers, because if they will go to the polls and vote for a known felon who is serving time in a federal prison. At the very least they have serious mental issues and need to either be hospitalized or lying around on some shrink’s couch pouring out their troubles and problems.

The Republican Party and its core the far-out right-wing will gladly destroy this nation and its citizens simply because we the people saw fit to elect a Black Man as our president. They bleed patriotism every day of their lives, but it is as a false premise. They have absolutely no real patriotism, for if they did they would put this nation and its citizens ahead of racism, bigotry and prejudices and stand up for what is right.

They have to know in their heart of hearts what needs to be done, but will they do it? No, they would rather hand over our country to a bunch angry rich old white men to be turned into a fascist nation than to do the right thing and help those who are seeking work. Help those who are hungry and in need.

It is a matter of one thing are they true followers of that simple Jewish Rabbi from Nazareth or are they simply shills for the Koch Brothers and the other shadowy figures who seek to control, conquer and divide our nation and its citizens?

I am beginning to believe that if Jesus returned today they would run Him out of town on a rail for being a radical, peace loving liberal who cares about people whatever their status in life or their religious or political convictions. They would likely tell him to get a job and quit being a lazy shiftless beggar. Where did we go wrong and what happened to following the teachings of that Galilean Sage who was born in a manger in Bethlehem?

It is a sad truth that Christ would not be welcome in many churches of today that bear his name! What a crazy world we live in!” —– Bob Bearden
