Another interesting point Cole mentioned at his town meeting, on being asked about the the Tar Sands Pipeline and leakage, was that we already have pipelines all over the country. We should have more because Canada is our friend. We should help them in every way possible. More must be better, no?
Yes, Canada is great and all that (ah) but I’m thinking about the Ooglala aquifer and how ground water and surface water are two different things when cleanup is required–the word is impossible cleanup of underground water. Surface water is hard to clean; ground water one can almost forget it.
About Cole’s point on leakage, I don’t know if anyone remembers Cole’s comment back in 2010 which seems to still hold true today– looking back: “COLE:
We probably should have forced BP to mobilize more in the way of vessels. There’s still a lot that can be done. But again, acts of God are acts of God. And you know, FEMA is not, you know, can not cope with everything.”
ACTS OF GOD ARE ACTS OF GOD. What do you think Cole means by that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3quDHWT8NAE
